The Village Lodge was constructed in 2011, and opened in March, 2012. This structure has become the visual and programmatic centerpiece of the Lakeview Villages campsite and has allowed Lakeview Ministries to expand our year-round ministry to families, youth and adults.
The building stands near the entrance to Lakeview Villages, making it an entry point into the village cabins and bathhouses beyond. When entering the parking area, the first thing a visitor sees is the large front porch and scenic pillared entryway, designed to give the building the feel of a camp lodge right out of the Rocky Mountains.
Not only is the Village Lodge the hub of summer camp activity, it also provides a beautiful and functional setting for a wide variety of spiritual retreats, family reunions, and conferences!
Dining Area
The Village Lodge can seat up to 180 guests in the dining room on the upper level, and the large commercial kitchen can satisfy any appetite. This large interior space also has a fully-equipped audio / visual system, perfect for speaker presentations, large gatherings, or an indoor worship setting.
Sleeping Areas
The Village Lodge sleeps up to 44 guests, in dormitory style housing. Located on the lower level are 8 sleeping rooms, each containing two bunk beds, and another large sleeping room with 4 more bunkbeds. On the upper level two smaller rooms, within the first aid station, contain an additional set of bunkbeds. Restrooms with showers are located on the lower level. A lift between the upper and lower levels makes the Village Lodge fully handicap accessible.
Porch Areas
On the back side of the building, a large exterior deck runs the entire length of the building and provides a peaceful, breathtaking view of Wehmeier Lake. This deck is a popular gathering spot for outdoor dining, Bible studies, evening devotions, or some personal quiet time in one of the many Adirondack chairs.
Craft Room
During the summer camp season this room, located on the lower level, is used for craft activities. The rest of the year, it can be used as a meeting area for up to 60 guests.
Game Room
Come and enjoy a game of foosball, ping pong, air hockey and bumper pool!
Canteen
The canteen is located at the west end, on the lower level of the Village Lodge. It is open June – August for guest groups and summer campers to purchase and enjoy candy, chips, soda, and ice cream!
Shirt Shack
The shirt shack is open June – August for guests and summer campers to purchase t-shirts, sweatshirts, hats, water bottles, stuffed animals, and other camp souvenirs.
