About

Disc golf is a family and beginner friendly, inexpensive sport that engages the mind and body and helps to get people out in God’s Creation. For those reasons, disc golf and camp go hand in hand! Disc golf has been played at Camp Lakeview since the late 2000s. Our course has had a couple of small tweaks over the years, but overall hasn’t changed very much since it was first built. Because disc golf has grown in popularity nationwide and in the southern Indiana area, we see a lot of added value for our campers and retreat groups in upgrading our course to include baskets, concrete tee pads, and professional tee signs for each hole. We believe these upgrades will enhance both the experience of playing disc golf at camp and the aesthetics of the course. However, those course materials are fairly expensive – enter the Hike n Huck.

The Lakeview Hike n Huck is a beginner friendly, best shot doubles (think golf scramble) tournament seeking to raise money to establish a permanent course with in-ground baskets, concrete tee pads, and professional tee signs at Camp Lakeview. So find a partner and come enjoy a day of fellowship and hucking discs out at Camp!

Entry Fee & SWAG (Stuff We All Get)

The Hike n Huck is $25 to play, with an optional $5 charge if you would like to be eligible for winning an Ace (hole-in-one) Pool. We will also have a Skills Contest available to compete in for $10 – this is open to everyone, even if you have not entered the Hike n Huck. Anyone who competes in the Skills Contest will be entered into a drawing for a chance at a new disc golf bag!

Winners of the Adult and Junior divisions of the Hike n Huck Tournament will win a special disc hand-dyed by our Camp Lakeview Program Director Brandon Hall. He creates some super cool designs! The winner of the Skills Contest will win a new disc golf bag. All players that register will receive a custom stamped tournament disc. We will also have some discs available to borrow if needed.

All spectators will need to sign a waiver at Lakeview before following along.

The Course

The course follows a loop around the edges of the main activity area of Camp Lakeview. It has a good variety of shot shapes, is mostly open with some trees present, has a decent bit of elevation change, and some out of bounds areas. The holes are mostly Par 3s, except for Hole 5 (which is a Par 5). The course is designed to be scoreable and beginner friendly, while still posing some challenging shots for experienced players.
