The goal of this page is to provide you with a better understanding of the food service options for campers with food allergies or special dietary needs. We would love to connect with you to discuss your food options in more detail – get in touch with our food service team HERE.

BASICS I MENUS I FOOD ALLERGIES I GET IN TOUCH

The Basics

  • We need to know about food allergies at least TWO WEEKS before your stay to be able to provide accommodations.
  • We are able to provide alternative food options for DAIRY, EGG, GLUTEN, and NUT allergies.
  • For more extensive allergies or dietary needs, you should plan on bringing supplemental food items to camp.

What Is Your Menu Like At Camp?

Menu
Each meal served at camp includes the main dish, as well as a second option in case a camper does not like the main meal. We serve child-friendly meals such as chicken nuggets, spaghetti, hamburgers, and pizza. Cereal is available at breakfast, PB&J is available at lunch and dinner, and fruit is available at each meal.

Extra Options
For each camp meal, in addition to the main food items, we also provide options for campers to eat. In general, here are the extra options provided at each meal.

  • Breakfast: Fruit, Cereal, Yogurt, Bagels, Toast
  • Lunch/Supper: Side Salad, PB&J Sandwiches, Fruit, Cottage Cheese, Chicken Salad

By taking advantage of these options, many campers can find nutritious food items to accommodate any special dietary needs.

If you have specific needs, we are able to provide you with a menu ahead of time to help you better plan and prepare for your time at camp. Please make sure to reach out to us at least TWO WEEKS before your arrival, to allow our food service team adequate time to respond to your request.

What Food Allergies are you able to accommodate?

We are able to provide alternative food options for Dairy, Egg, Gluten, and Nut allergies to campers who have specified these allergies on their form TWO WEEKS before camp.

Dairy
While dairy is featured on occasion in our menu, it is usually not too difficult to modify menu items to make them dairy-free (for example, by not adding cheese to certain tacos). We also are able to offer dairy-free alternatives for every meal where dairy is featured, such as dairy-free pizza, dairy-free mac & cheese, and lactose-free milk.

Egg
Eggs are a common breakfast item served but in general are not featured extensively in our menu. If your camper has an egg-allergy that you have indicated to us two weeks in advance, we are able to offer egg-free alternatives for every meal where eggs are featured.

Gluten
We have gluten-free bread, chicken nuggets, pizza, corn dogs, waffles, and noodles to provide for those that have notified us of a gluten allergy two weeks in advance. While our kitchen staff is trained to avoid cross-contamination, we do NOT have separate equipment (ovens, microwaves, etc.) to use when preparing food. If you would like to know what specific items or food brands are being served during your camper’s stay, please contact us directly using the form at the bottom of the page.

Nut
We are not a nut-free camp, however, we strive to be as nut-aware as possible and limit the presence of peanuts and tree nuts in our kitchen and dining areas. The only specific food item in our kitchen that contains nuts is peanut butter (in individual service cups) provided to make PB&J sandwiches. In addition, certain candies and snacks in our camp canteen contain nuts.

When possible, we try to source food items that are NOT manufactured in a factory where nuts are present. Our food service provider is not always able to provide this information to us, however, and so for many menu items this information is unknown.

If your camper has a severe nut allergy, please contact our kitchen team to discuss additional options available to reduce potential risks of exposure during their time at camp.
