Lakeview Women’s Retreat: An Adventure for All Ages

Something for everyone. That’s the best way to describe Lakeview Ministries’ upcoming Women’s Retreat, slated for September 29October 1, 2023.

Whether you’re looking for a relaxing weekend away, complete with long naps and hot tubbing under the stars, or you’re seeking what could only be described as a high-adrenaline adventure, we’ve got you covered!

That’s just what Logan Hall, former Lakeview summer staff (and wife of current Camp Lakeview Program Director Brandon Hall) was looking for. “Last year,” said Logan, “my best friend from camp and I talked some of our Lakeview Summer Staff friends into coming to the Women’s Retreat. It was a blast for everyone…even for me, and I live at camp. It still felt like a getaway.”

There was a time when Logan wouldn’t have considered the retreat as an event that could bring renewal for twenty-somethings. “I just always thought the Women’s Retreat was geared for women at a different stage of life than mine,” she said.

But that’s not what she found when she actually attended the retreat . “Frisbee has redesigned this event to appeal to all ages,” said Logan. “She’s really given us a sense of adventure. I feel like it’s my turn to be a camper again.”

After spending time ministering to other people, Logan values the chance to learn about Jesus in a place she’s called home for so many years. “It’s my turn to get filled and experience camp in a new way as a wife and a mother. At the Women’s Retreat, I’m surrounded by women who have come before me in those roles.”

The fact that the new format brings back the fun of a summer staffer doesn’t hurt, either. “We get to jump around and sing songs at campfire,” she said, “which is something I just don’t get to do anymore.”

But Logan’s crew aren’t the only ones enjoying the new approach. “We saw a lot of women who are our parents’ age being kids again,” she said.

Of course, Women’s Retreat is about more than an adrenaline rush. “Frisbee is big on themes,” said Logan. “I really enjoy that, because it helps my brain wrap it all together. It’s great to focus on my walk with Jesus as a woman of God, and I love that we get Time Alone With God (TAWG) Time, too. I don’t always take time to stop and rest, but at the Women’s Retreat, it’s already scheduled for us.”

Whether you’re looking for a new focus on your faith, a relaxing weekend away from home, or a summer camp reunion with your besties, Lakeview’s Women’s Retreat is for you!
